Burren Food Trail Mondays – Burren Food Trail Walking Tours and Lunch

Join in on a Guided Walking Tour of Corcomroe abbey enclosures followed by Burren Lunch in Hylands Burren Hotel.

The Cistercian monks selected the
valley where Corcomroe Abbey is located because of its excellent farming land and built the monastery in the early 13th century, aptly naming it Sancta Maria de Petra Fertili. The name, “Petra Fertili” (The Fertile Rock) is an exultation of the environmental and ecological paradox that is the Burren.

George Quinn of Hylands Burren Hotel, with Michael MacMahon, author of the definitive book on the Cistercian Abbey of Corcomroe, will conduct the on-site tour.

The Abbey is just 6 kilometres from Hylands Burren Hotel in Ballyvaughan, where locally sourced produce will be provided for lunch afterwards in Hylands Burren Hotel, Ballyvaughan.
